Today was the first time I'm doing events at the Rock using the Yamaha PM1D board. I don't usually like using digital boards for live mix. I always have this concept that digital will always be digital. Digital sound is too define. But today, as I tried on this board, I'm amazed. It's looked stylish too, when the whole board is powered and lighted up.
Also, I always thought that digital boards are a little complicated to operate. But the PM1D has make things simple to use. Basically, it's more user friendly than the DM2000. The operation is very straight forward, more like an analog board.
In conclusion, this is the board I'm looking forward to operating. If Hillsong entertainment centre in Australia is using this board for their live mix, I don't see why we can't use it here. Well reccomended.
Went down to Heeren to shop in the evening. Didn't found anything interesting. So, I proceeded to Taka Zara store. Found 2 very nice shirts there. Tried it and bought it. Met JieYing & Amy outside Zara. Amy wanted to shop in Zara. Company them for a while before I said bye and started walking to Liat towers to meet the girls for meeting. Had dinner at Burger King before we proceeded to Borders Bistro for our meeting proper. Halfway through, Sophia came along.
Had a very fruitful meeting. Lots of ideas came up for the presentation on Monday by Rach & Jaisey.
Went inside Borders to checkout some stuff before sharing a cab with Jaisey home.
Came home about 8 plus from work today. Went online to check my mails Was in MSN also. Bin said XiaoPing had cravings for durians. So, I suggested to go for JLD. So, we went for durians at upper serangoon. I messaged Gary if he's interested to join us as it's near his house. Gary came as well as Eileen. We had a D24 & a "mao san wan" (cat-mountain-king). The latter taste better. We had mangosteens & longans too. Upon paying, I was favoured by the ah bengs that he gave me a bag of rambutans for free. Praise God.
After that, it's sending XiaoPing home before sending myself home.....hehehe!
Had a ridiculous incident at hokkien service! While tearing down, I asked Daniel to check on the MDs that was recorded. When he was in the midst of checking, the power was suddenly turned off! Daniel alerted me. So, I came to FOH to investigate. At that moment, my very main concerns were on the MDs & the mixer board. If the recorded MDs were to be erased due to the sudden lost of electrical power, my head's gonna be on the chopping board, man! Besides, Such action could result in blowing up the mixer modules. When I reached FOH, I saw this guy at the main power source plugging out the main plug. In a little hash tone, I asked him why he off the power. He gave me this freaking blur look. So, I just turned and walked towards the logistic leader and told him about what happened. Apparently this guy wasn't happy. He confronted me. He said he didn't know he cannot shut the power but said why I gave him the rude attitude. I wanted to explain to him the situation and perhaps apologised for the hash tone. Before I could do that, he straight away said he wanted to see Pastor Mark to complain about me. He then went on saying that he's here to serve and not here to be subjected to my rude attitude! I was like, okay, he doesn't want to listen to my explaination, FINE! I kept quite!
Later, I found out he actually runs a consultant service company. He holds lots of degrees, even PhD. At least that's what was printed on his namecard. According to the leader, he only served twice. He had this pride in him that he, as an entrepreneur, should not humbled down and be subjected to such attitude. To him, serving is a job he must do. I was just thinking, if he can study so much and having a high profile job. If he didn't know if he should off the switch or not, would he not just have the little courtesy to ask my guys there if he can plug it off or not? My guys wasn't far away. They were just 2 steps away from the plug. Finally, this guy wanted to resign from the ministry. Haiz........
Yes, I'm admitted to be too focus on my work that sometimes be hash towards people around me. But I know Daddy is moulding me everyday on that. It takes a bigger man to apologise and I'm willing to apologise to this guy if he had given me a chance to. Okay, let's forget about this whole thing. Abba, Daddy will take care for me.
Later, I was in the musicians office. Ann was dozing off at one corner. She can really sleep, man! I guess the seat was too comfortable.
Daniel, Jen, Ray & myself were fellowshipping away.
Then it's D&D meeting with the gang at TCC, Millenia. Some of the non-committee girls were sitted on the next table. Hmmm...wonder what they were doing. Let's spy on them......
During a little break, managed to snap XiaoPing & Mei.
Couldn't take anymore! Must go home to recharge.......
Went for meeting with the reccom guys at Millenia Walk, Babs. Dave was tired but focus. Bin posed for a shot. Eileen was kinda focused on her drink.
Meeting was very fruitful with minor details to work on. Then, the gang watched a video clip via my lappy on this stand-up comedian Russell Peters. His jokes are kinda racist but funny. As they were watching, they were laughing away. For those who wanna watch these clips, you can go to this site:-
Then, it's back to The Rock, 6th floor, for first Singles' ministry meeting.
After that, the gang went for dinner at this thai restaurant at basement 1 food court. We then went back up to Eng Wah cinema to watch "The Island". Only managed to captured Rach with a mouthful of popcorns.
The movie was great! The plot was good. Effects was good too. Only thing was that I actually anticipated the 3 things the couple would have done towards the end. That was to escape, come back to free their counterparts & to kill the villian. Haha.....watched too much actionpacked movies, lah!
